Hello lovelies!
I thought a lovely memory to share with you all would be our honeymoon! We went to America for two and a half jam packed weeks. We had a wonderful time there, and although the country was alot dirtier than we were expecting, we were still happy to be there - enjoying the moment!
Our first few nights in the USA were spent in Anaheim, and getting there was a very long journey, as we had to drive to Brisbane, fly to Sydney, then fly to Honolulu, then onto Los Angeles which we then had another drive to Anaheim itself! PHEW! In Anaheim we spent two days at Disneyland, and one day in California Land.. but to be honest, we didn't really need it. We found that Americans don't seem to wake up or start their day until well after 10am - but parks and what have you still open around 9am. So if you can, or have a short time frame.. we highly recommend getting off your tushie early -as we had about 5 rides done in that one hour, simply because there was no lines to contend with!
The rides weren't exactly the most thrill seeking rides I'd ever been on, but it was still fun and great to be enjoying rides we'd grown up hearing about and seeing all the characters everywhere. From Anaheim, we then caught a LuxBus down to San Diego. San Diego was probably the scrubbiest of all the places we went, possibly because it is so close to Mexico. To be honest, I didn't like walking out and around downtown, but had no other choice for food etc. However, Seaworld and the San Diego Zoo literally took our breath away! Seeing Killer Whales, Pandas, Flamingos and so many other animals that I had never had the opportunity of seeing previously. It ticked a few things off my bucket list!
From San Diego, we then hopped on a plane to the unbelieve Las Vegas! It is such a fantastic place, very clean, not as hot as people make out (there is no humidity), and lots of entertainment to be found!! Alcohol was rather expensive if bought from bars or vendors, but buying from grocers and petrol stations was still cheap. In Vegas we got to shoot guns at the Vegas Gun Store, watched the Bellagio Fountains, and went on a bus tour to Arizona to see the Grand Canyon South Rim. The Grand Canyon really did take our breath away - no photos can do it any justice. It is just so immense!
From Vegas we then flew to Los Angeles, where unfortunately I got rather sick so we didn't get to go to Universal Studios or see the LA Dodgers like we had planned. We did take a short walk along that boulevard of fame thing, but it was so dirty I hardly even noticed - Alfred had to tell me we were on it. We then flew back to Honolulu, Hawaii where Alfred got a cold. It is a tiny island, and only took us severl hours to drive around, including making stops for things like the Dole Plantation. We also visited Pearl Harbour, as Alfred is a history buff and WWII seems to be his favourite.
