Birthday Bash

I had my birthday bash last night, a small gathering in the name of Tim Burton. We had a huge blast, I had yummy marble cake from Mamuska Cheesecake Shop (we used this company for our wedding cakes too!), played poker, and just general entertaining chit chat.

(Corpse Bride, general style , Sally, Headless Horseman, Tim Burton, Edward Scissorhands and the Penguin, + 2xpuppies wanting in)

(Lucy ~ Sally, Nightmare Before Christmas)

(Rhys and Alfred ~ Headless Horseman, Sleepy Hollow)

Running wild and free
On Friday, we donated to the Save the Tasmanian Devil, who are trying to save the devils from Devil Facial Tumour Disease, which is one of only three forms of cancer that can spread like a contagious disease. In late 2008, the Tasmanian devil was also uplisted to Endangered on the Red List of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN) – widely considered the most authoritative system for classifying species in terms of their risk of extinction.

Yesterday, we donated to Arthritis Australia, who are promoting awareness about the wide affects of arthritis, provide support for sufferers and their families, and provide funding to finding possible causes and cures. Nearly one in five Australians - that's 3.85 million people - has arthritis, one of whom is poor Alfred.

Today we donated to The Aids Trust of Australia, who raise funds to deliver awareness, education, prevention, support, care and social research programs relating to HIV/AIDS. More than 20,956 Australians live with HIV today. There are 21 people newly diagnosed every week. Chances are that you know someone affected by the virus - we do, and they are constantly fighting the same old stigma of how they got the disease, but all that happened was they got into a fight were blood was involved.
