Brilliant Birthday

Yesterday was my birthday, for the glorious age of 23. Alfred cooked me some wonderful pancakes for breakfast, which I then plastered with icing sugar and lemon - YUM! We then signed up to Foxtel for the first time, which should be interesting as we don't normally watch that much TV, but as we have been informed that we can't have the internet at home - we decided we needed something else to entertain us!

Hubby then took me to Montezumas for lunch, where I drank many Sangrias and ate far too much food. After a nap in the park, we then went to see David Strassman for Ted E's farewell tour, along with my parents. He is hilarious!!

Also, yesterday (Day 2 of 12 days of Christmas), we gave our money to the Australian Cancer Research Foundation which raises mainly solely for research into curing cancer, 100% of all donations goes into grants to fund scientific research. My mother and Alfreds father have both suffered the ordeal of cancer, but were lucky to come through it - my uncle however, recently passed away from bone cancer - so this organisation really means alot to us.

Today we are donating to the Heart Foundation - "Since being established in 1959, the Heart Foundation has funded world-class cardiovascular research, supported health professionals in their practice, developed health promotion activities, informed and educated the public and assisted people with cardiovascular disease." This donation is a bit more of a selfish one, both Alfred and I have heart disease issues with nearly all our family members, so the statistics are very much against us - therefore we donate to the Heart Foundation not just because it's a good cause, but because we hope it will make our future better.

With Love,
Lady Lucy
